get started / Install
Install
The agent runs on the machine with the GPU, as your normal user. It needs no open ports and no account.
Linux
One command downloads the agent for your CPU, checks it, installs it to ~/.local/bin and starts it as a systemd user service. No sudo needed.
On a headless server, user services stop when you log out. The installer prints the loginctl command that keeps the agent running after reboots.
To manage the service later: pgpu service status, pgpu service uninstall.
Windows (from 1.2)
In PowerShell. It installs to %LOCALAPPDATA%\PocketGPU\bin, adds that to your PATH, starts the agent at login and offers the tray app.
Or download PocketGPU-Agent-x86_64-setup.exe from the releases: the tray app installs the agent itself on first launch.
The agent runs as you, with no Windows service, so the terminal opens your own PowerShell. pgpu service install prints where its log is. Stop it starting at login with pgpu service uninstall.
Requirements
Linux on x86_64 or arm64 with glibc 2.28 or newer (Ubuntu 20.04+, Debian 11+, Fedora 36+). An NVIDIA driver for GPU stats; without one the agent still shows CPU, RAM and disk.
The agent refuses to run as root, so a paired phone can never control the machine as root.
Check it
It checks the driver, GPU access, the network, Ollama, the disk and the user.
